MWC 2024: Samsung Galaxy Ring aimed at making health-tracking easier

Why wear your heart on your sleeve when you can wear it on your finger?

Remember the ring teaser from Galaxy Unpacked last month — that mysterious silhouette hinting at a brand new product category? Well, Samsung has now unveiled the Galaxy Ring at the MWC 2024.

Now, we have a little more to go on. The Galaxy Ring has been introduced as a device focused on health, aimed at making daily wellness monitoring easier. And the smart ring will come in three colours. It is expected to monitor heart rates, movements, breathing and sleep cycles. It’s highlighted as a sleeker sleep tracker compared to a bulky watch.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring will likely be available in US ring sizes 5 to 13, with the size specified inside the ring. Larger sizes will sport slightly bigger batteries, though Samsung is mum on the specifics. While the exact sensors remain a mystery, rest assured, the Galaxy Ring is geared up to provide sleep-tracking features. With no screens or buttons, you might need a compatible Galaxy smartphone and the Samsung Health app to access your health data.
