Porsche 911 Turbo S is the most powerful production 911 to date

Porsche has taken the wraps off the crown jewel of its 911 family. The new Turbo S debuts a twin-turbo setup with T-Hybrid technology, crowning it the most potent production 911 to date. Prices open at £199,100 for the coupé, and £209,100 for the cabriolet. First deliveries are pencilled in for late 2025.

Power comes from a hybridised 3.6-litre flat-six at the rear, delivering 711 PS and 800 Nm of torque across a wide 2,300–6,000 rpm band. Porsche claims it will dispatch 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. First seen in the Carrera GTS in 2024, the T-Hybrid system has been reworked for the flagship. Instead of a single eTurbo, the Turbo S employs two bespoke units, smaller than those in the GTS, but capable of spinning up to 145,000 rpm.

Porsche’s T-Hybrid system employs a 1.9kWh battery mounted ahead of the scuttle to power an electric motor positioned between the compressor and turbine wheels in each turbo. This setup helps the turbos reach peak boost more quickly than conventional units.

The new Turbo S also gains wider 325mm rear tyres and larger rear brakes, with carbon-ceramic discs and rear-wheel steering fitted as standard. Aero hardware carries over in the form of the two-stage rear spoiler and deployable front splitter, but the latest model adds active gills in the front bumper for greater control.

Its cross-linked active anti-roll bars are now electrohydraulic, powered by the 400V system, allowing them to react more quickly. Weight-saving touches include a titanium exhaust, trimming 6.8kg, and composite wiper arms that are 50 per cent lighter. However, overall kerb weight has risen by 85kg to 1,725kg (figure includes the optional rear seats).
