Devialet’s first effort at making a soundbar! Its design is big and brash. It’s unashamedly bold when it comes to delivering its sonic payload. 950W of amplification power, an array of 17 drivers, some fearsomely complex digital processing to extract an impression of 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and a frequency response that reaches down to 24Hz without the aid of a subwoofer to serve up a wide, tall and forceful sound that left us hugely impressed. And that golf ball? That’s a dedicated centre- channel driver that can be twisted around depending on whether the Dione is on a wall or a shelf. Weird? Yes. Wonderful? Undoubtedly! Award worthy? Absolutely!
