Computex 2024: MSI Claw 8 AI Plus is the first Intel Lunar Lake powered gaming handheld

Poised to outshine its predecessor, the original Claw?

MSI unveiled the Claw 8 AI Plus at Computex 2024, marking the anticipated successor to the initial Claw model launched in March this year. This handheld gaming PC will be powered by the new Intel Lunar Lake chip and MSI is aiming to position it as the "world's first gaming handheld" to feature the Intel Core Ultra processor.

MSI has revealed that the Claw 8 AI Plus will feature an 8-inch Full HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR support. Additionally, the handheld PC will include a second USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 4 capabilities. It will have an “enhanced tactile experience for the LB/RB buttons”. Furthermore, the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus is expected to feature a larger battery, potentially up to 80Wh.

In addition to the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus, MSI revealed a collaboration with Bethesda to introduce a limited edition co-branded handheld gaming PC, the Claw x Fallout. This special edition device will feature a 7-inch display and a design inspired by iconic elements from the Fallout universe, including vaults, Pip-Boys, and robots.
