Lamborghini Urus Performante launched in India starting at ₹4.22 crore!

A beauty on concrete, a beast in slush…

The Lamborghini Urus Performante has landed in India, priced at a premium over the standard Urus starting at of ₹4.22 crore (ex-showroom). So do start saving up, if you are an off-road junkie with a love for the supers.

Lamborghini has unleashed an epic new powerhouse in the form of the Urus Performante, a beastly variant of the SUV. It’s pretty much one of the quickest and fastest super-SUVs out there. Proving its performance with a record-breaking 10-minute, 32-second run at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb in the US. The fastest of any production SUV to attempt it.

Powered by a 4-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine, this variant gets a slight increase in output with a devilish 666PS and 850Nm. That may be just 26PS more than the standard Urus but it manages to shave 0.3 seconds off the super-SUV’s 0-100kmph time (which any racing fan knows is a hell of a lot). The 47kg weight reduction from the stock model, gives the Performante the ability to do 0-100 in 3.3 seconds (which is quick as the Huracan EVO RWD).

But don't expect one of those sleek, stuck-to-the-floor supercars. While the Urus Performante may have a 305k/h top speed, it is primarily a four-wheel drive super-SUV with steel springs and dampers all around for a more rugged suspension setup. The stiffer springs in addition to the wider stance and lower ride height, help you exploit the Urus’s immense power in any terrain, both off and on the road. It even has a new Rally driving mode.

When it comes to design, the Performante has a fierce and sinister look with a long nose, gaping front grille, air dams and bonnet scoops. It sports gloss black side cladding and has a black roof with dual-tone, black and body coloured bonnet. The latter two contrast elements are made from carbon fibre to aid the weight reduction process. At the rear, this SUV sports an Aventador SVJ-inspired roof spoiler to help increase downforce over the rear axle. Revisions have been made to the rear bumper as well to improve aerodynamics.
