Oben EV Rorr is an Indian-made bike with 200km range

Economic and environmentally friendly

In an exploding (pun unintended) electric two-wheeler market, Bengaluru-based Oben Electric makes an entry.

Priced at ₹1 lakh, the Oben EV Rorr comes with a range of 200km on a single charge. Even the Eco mode, where the top speed is capped at 50kph, manages to squeeze out a 150km range. This is achieved thanks to the 10kW peak output of its permanent magnet motor.

With a 100kph top speed in the Havoc mode and taking just two hours to charge the battery fully, this new electric bike is a pretty efficient way to zip around the city and avoid traffic. Oben even claims a 0-40kph time of 3 seconds! That being said, the City mode caps the top speed to a reasonable 70kph, making it the perfect compromise between the Eco and Havoc modes.

All this is achieved with the help of the massive non-removable 4.4kWh battery pack that it packs in. The battery is to be charged using a 15A plug-point. The company will set up a 15A socket at your house for free, and provide three years of roadside assistance, in case you run out of charge away from home.

When it comes to additional features, you get what you pay for. It doesn’t pack in top-of-the-line graphics and display, but you do get a coloured negative LCD display that provides basic information, along with an eSIM and app connectivity. It also comes with an anti-theft system and LED lighting all around.
