Procreate's latest animation app for iPad, Dreams, is tailored for the storytellers of tomorrow. Like wielding a magic wand: just a touch and your creations come to life, dancing to the story's rhythm. No need to get tangled up in complicated keyframes or twisty paths.
Its new tool 'Performing’ records your actions in real-time and adds keyframes using gestures. With dreams’ next-gen painting and compositing engine, you can work on projects with resolutions up to 1 million by 1 million pixels, and it will let you have more layers than you’ll ever need. The app supports all Procreate’s brushes, which are optimised for the precision and low latency of Apple Pencil.
Procreate Dreams centres around its Multi-touch Timeline, putting the power of navigation, organisation, and project editing at your fingertips. It allows you to blend drawing, cel animation, keyframing, video editing, and compositing – all controlled through intuitive gestures that outpace the clunky mouse and keyboard. And you're not tethered to a fixed path on the timeline. You can freely waltz through it, adding actions and instantly previewing your piece. And when it's time to fine-tune, just whip out your Apple Pencil and draw on the timeline to select content, tracks, or keyframes, making bulk edits easy.
You can also instantly play your project as you make edits. Plus you can import ProRes footage all the way up to 8K. And, if you're feeling the need to crop, cut, pan or zoom during post-production, it's pretty easy with this high-resolution video toolkit. You can also add your artistic touch to videos. Imagine drawing over them with the full array of Procreate brushes, turning your work into annotated or rotoscoped masterpieces.
Procreate Dreams doesn't stop at visuals, it's got an all-new audio engine that lets you breathe life into your characters with voiceovers, set the mood with atmospheric music, and add those oh-so-perfect sound effects to wrap up your projects. The Procreate Dream will be released on November 22, 2023. You can snag it on the App Store for a one-time purchase of just $19.99 USD (around ₹1700).
