Sennheiser is hitting all the right notes with its latest launch in India—the HD 490 Pro studio headphones. The audio device promises to deliver highly precise sound reproduction and a ‘very wide and realistic sound stage’.
The HD 490 Pro are Sennheiser's top-of-the-line studio headphones designed for mixing, mastering, and producing. Sennheiser says its engineers have gone the extra mile to ensure that the HD 490 Pro delivers a wide, dimensional sound stage, allowing you to precisely localise every component of your mix.
According to Sennheiser, the open-back headphones feature ultralight voice coils that ensure a fast and authentic sound reproduction. The frequency response is uncoloured and honest across the entire audio spectrum, so every note can be heard with clarity. Thanks to a special low-frequency cylinder, the low end is full, and clearly defined, adding depth to your music. Underneath the open-mesh ear cup covers, Sennheiser's Open-frame Architecture minimises resonances and distortion. The transducers are strategically positioned at a slight angle, emulating a typical monitor loudspeaker set-up.
Designed with comfort in mind, the HD 490 Pro headphones are said to be lightweight and ergonomic. Sennheiser's patented soft comfort zone on the circumaural ear pads accommodates glass temples, maintaining a comfortable seal for optimal sound quality. Plus, Sennheiser says the headphones are engineered to adapt to your head shape, providing consistent contact pressure for a personalised fit.
The Sennheiser HD 490 PRO comes with two sets of ear pads (mixing and producing) and a 1.8m cable, all for ₹34,500. For ₹41,300, you can opt for the HD 490 Pro Plus, which includes a case, an additional 3m headphone cable, and an extra fabric headband pad.
