Sonos Ace got smarter, louder, and a lot more social with the new update

Recently added: dual listening, spatial audio, and smarter sound features!

Sonos is rolling out a major software update for its premium over-ear headphones, the Sonos Ace. Delivered over the air, the update introduces various features designed to elevate personal audio and home theatre experiences. Key highlights include the debut of TrueCinema, improved TV Audio Swap, upgraded Active Noise Cancellation, and clearer call performance.

Previously, the TV Audio Swap feature lets users wirelessly stream sound from their Sonos soundbar directly to the Ace headphones. With the latest update, the new Personal Home Theater for Two feature allows two Ace users to tune in together, simultaneously streaming audio from the Sonos Arc.

The new TrueCinema feature, as per Sonos, lets the Ace map your room and fine-tune spatial audio to match, creating an immersive, theatre-like surround sound experience—without a single speaker in sight just like having Dolby Atmos wrapped around your ears.

Sonos is also introducing adaptive Active Noise Cancellation that works in real-time. It’s designed to respond to subtle changes, such as sound leakage caused by glasses, hair, or headwear. Whether you're on the move, deep in work mode, or simply unwinding, this smart ANC aims to keep your audio experience distraction-free.

Voice calling on the Sonos Ace is getting a thoughtful boost with the addition of SideTone. This feature lets you hear your voice more clearly during calls—a welcome fix for the muffled, disconnected feel that often comes with noise-cancelling headphones.

The update begins rolling out globally to all Sonos Ace users starting June 10, 2025.
