Sony Bravia XR A80L OLED series come with human-centric processors

The TV that's more than a TV?

Listen up, dear reader! Sony has just unveiled their latest Bravia XR A80L OLED series, and they're powered by the all-new Cognitive Processor XR, which, as per the brand, thinks like a human brain! Yep, this TV has brains - well, sort of.

Thanks to its cognitive intelligence, this fancy processor can reproduce pictures and sound just like how humans see and hear them in the real world. So, they say, you get an incredibly lifelike experience that'll make you feel like you're right there in the action.

The Cognitive Processor XR isn't just a pretty face (or a pretty circuit board, if you will). It also upscales whatever you're watching to near-4K quality. So even if you're stuck with some low-res content, the XR Processor will work its magic and make it look like it's been blessed by the gods of high definition.

The A80L series also comes equipped with XR OLED Contrast Pro, which boosts colour and contrast in bright areas for even more realistic pictures. And with its temperature sensor and high luminance panel, this OLED TV uses the Cognitive Processor XR to detect screen temperature and precisely control light. The series also has XR Triluminos Pro that enables A80L access to over a billion colours and X-Wide Angle which means watching televisions from the sides is now as satisfying as from the centre.

You can also use Bravia Core to enjoy IMAX-enhanced movies with Pure Stream up to 80mbps. With the Bravia Core Calibrated mode, your movies will automatically adjust to the optimal picture settings to create an exceptional at-home movie viewing experience.

According to Sony, the A80L tellies are also good for gaming courtesy of the exclusive gaming features such as Game Menu, Auto Genre Picture Mode, Auto HDR Tone mapping supported by HDMI 2.1 compatibility, 4K 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) offering decent graphics, scenes and atmospheric sound. Auto Genre Picture Mode in A80L automatically switches into Game Mode with PS5 to minimise lag and maximise responsiveness. It switches back to Standard mode when watching movies for more expressive scenes. The Auto HDR Tone Mapping instantly optimises HDR settings during your PS5 initial setup.

With Acoustic Surface Audio+, the sound comes directly from the screen. It's like the TV has its own set of vocal cords (although, let's be real, that would be pretty creepy). Sony also claims that there are triple actuators behind the TV that vibrate to create acoustics that move with the picture. And theer are three actuators and two subwoofers, two of the actuators are dedicated to treble, while the left and right subwoofers boost bass.

The series has four size variants– 55in, 65in, 77in, 83in. The 65in will cost you a whopping ₹3,49,000 while the pricing for the others is yet to be announced.
