Your complete tech guide to the FIFA World Cup 2022

World Cup…World Cup…World Cup…World Cup!

It’s that time of year again and while the world chants the new most annoying, catchy song for the World Cup, it’s time to get prepared for a few weeks of non-stop sport. Here is everything you may need to know and keep ready to enjoy this World Cup season in full force!

How to Stream?

For those of you from the Indian sub-continent, it is pretty simple. Earlier in the year, major broadcasting company Viacom18 paid ₹450Cr to acquire the rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, so there are 3 major official routes you can take to watch the action-

1) Voot App

Viacom18 Media’s streaming platform– Voot is the place to be if you want in on the action. The yearly subscription to the platform will cost about ₹299 a year (basic plan). Though, once  purchased, you can enjoy the vast range of benefits that come with Voot Premium such as high-quality streaming on various devices. The app is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for Android and iOS users. This is one way to take care of your streaming needs.

2) JioTV App

If the Voot subscription is a bit too pricey for you and you happen to be a Jio user, you will be glad to know that Reliance is also a partner of Viacom 18. This means the Jio network will offer live streams and content on all games for free! All you need to do is register with a Jio number and tune in. To read more, click here.

3) SuperSport app

If neither of these options does it for you, you can use the SuperSport app to stream. The platform is a pretty reputable establishment with a healthy working relationship with several football bodies. They too will be broadcasting the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup live. Although as an Indian fan, you will need to use a VPN to use the app. So it might just be simpler to stick to the beaten path. But hey, do you!

How to Play Along?

FIFA 23

It allows you to build your team and play alongside the actual games. All you have to do is sign up and create an account. Get playing with your friends and family.

How do I keep track of the fixtures and scores?

FIFA+

This is an easy answer. FIFA+ is the official home of the World Cup and it has everything you will need. From live updates and score tracking to news and fantasy leagues, it has it all (with the exception of streaming that is). So if you want to stay up to date with everything World Cup, this is the place to be.
