Nothing Phone (1) update rolls out ahead of sale

Nothing more to fix… for now

Well, if you consider yourself a part of the tech world, you have definitely heard of Nothing Phone (1). The newborn phone is both gimmicky and in a way, beautiful. But like all children, it’s still learning to walk and talk. Today, it has received its first update in India, to address a few issues that have been detected in its first couple weeks of life.

Users have noticed issues with the camera app, fingerprint scanner, battery, and user interface so naturally, this update aims to fix all these issues. It will also bring along support for HDR10+. The company has released a new software OTA update for its first smartphone, just ahead of its first open sale.

Sized at 93.81MB, this new update revamps the operating system’s sound effects, improves the Glyph interface effects and settings, and optimises the battery life. We will also see optimisations for camera app UI and improvements to effects like HDR, portrait mode, night mode and more. Additionally, the fingerprint recording and unlocking experience will also be refined and made smoother, alongside the other usual bug fixes.

You should receive a notification for a system update, but if you don't you can always check for it manually by going to Settings -> System -> System updates. It is recommended that you update your Nothing Phone (1) while it is connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and fully charged (because we know you store your personal equivalent nuclear codes on there, which you just can't afford to lose).
